Family business
As a family business, we place great value on personal contact and short communication lines. Our flat organizational structure enables us to respond quickly and provide direct technical support whenever needed. No unnecessary layers, but direct contact with specialists who understand your process and think along with you to find the right solution.
Our ambition is clear: to become the international benchmark for high-quality, customer-specific temperature sensors. By continuously investing in innovation, quality, and long-term relationships, we help our customers move forward and contribute to their success, today and in the future.
Quality
Quality is central to every step of our process. We work according to strict quality standards and are, among others, DEKRA certified in accordance with ISO 9001:2015. In addition, we hold the ASME S-stamp, and our welding work is certified according to EN 3834 Part 2, IIW via NIL. For applications in potentially explosive environments, we supply ATEX and IECEx-certified sensors, optionally supplemented with China Compulsory Certification (3C) for the Chinese market.
Worldwide
History and future

From the beginning
Founded in 1962 in The Hague, Thermo-Electra started out by repairing analogue meters for glass and brick factories in the Netherlands. After several years, the production of temperature sensors was added to its activities, and the small company quickly grew to 10 employees, making the original location too small.

Enabling growth
In 1976, Thermo-Electra moved to a new location in Pijnacker, situated between Rotterdam and The Hague, which made further growth possible. And growth is exactly what we achieved. We grew from 10 to 50 employees by 2023, and during this period our premises were expanded several times to create more space.
Over the years, not only did our product portfolio grow, but so did our quality certifications. ISO 9001, ASME, EN 3834, Lloyd’s Register, ATEX and IECEx were obtained.

Grow
In 2014, the adjacent building was added to the existing premises to expand our shipping and warehouse capacity.
More space meant longer temperature sensors, and multipoint temperature systems of up to 36 metres were now possible.

A sustainable future
In 2022, our premises underwent a complete makeover to make them more sustainable and future-proof, including the installation of 250 solar panels.
With more than 60 years of experience in the development of temperature sensors, we continue to innovate within the market and provide our customers with the best possible support for technical questions. We do this in a sustainable way that aligns with our company, our culture, and the markets we serve.

Inventory digitalization
In 2026, we are taking an important step towards further digitalizing our organization by making our inventory available through a webshop. Combined with a completely renewed website, this creates one powerful platform where product information, custom solutions, and orders come together seamlessly.
This makes it easier and faster for customers to find the right solution and place their order directly.
